Access Manager for Windows FAQ

New users are not shown in the restriction tree

Question: I created several new users using Control Panel, but after I open Access Manager for Windows I do not see the new users in the restriction tree. How can I resolve the problem?

Brief Answer: Log into each user at least one time so that Windows could create user profiles for all your new users, then open Access Manager for Windows and you will see the new users in the tree

Answer: This is not actually a problem. When you create a new user in Control Panel, Windows creates only user ID and does not create a profile for the new user. Windows creates the user profile for a new user at the time you log into the user for the first time. Because Access Manager for Windows restricts user profiles what is the only possible thing to be restricted, it shows you in the tree only the users having user profiles. To show the new users, log into each user at least one time so that Windows could create user profiles for all your new users, then open Access Manager for Windows and you will see the new users in the tree.
