In Windows 98 SE, a list of documents
that you have worked on recently is readily available in the Start Menu when you
select Documents. Clicking any document in that list will open it. It is
important to note that any e-mail you have saved through your browser’s save
function will appear in this list as a text document. To avoid such easy
navigation to your work and your e-mail, you should eliminate the document
history. This procedure needs to be performed frequently, or, in the case of
sensitive material, at the end of each work session.
To delete Document History, click Start, Settings, Taskbar. Choose the Start Menu Programs tab. Click the Clear button found under the Documents History dialog box. Click OK.
If the above options do not provide enough security for you, download Access manager for Windows.
Access manager provides much more security than standard ways in Windows.
