Advanced Internet Kiosk FAQ

How can i choose which applications and/or websites my users can access? how can i edit and remove shortcuts?

You can create shortcuts for applications and URLs your users will only be able to see and run. Click Shortcuts in the toolbar on the left. You'll see an empty list of shortcuts. Click 'Add' button and the Shortcuts Editor window will pop up. There you first choose what you want a shortcut to be - an application or a web URL. Then you decide whether this shortcut will be run automatically at the beginning of the session or not. If you do want it to run automatically, tick the appropriate box. Then you enter the name of the shortcut and browse for the application path or enter the Internet address of the site (make sure you enter the entire address including the beginning portion that typically begins with http://, https://, ftp:// or file://, otherwise the address will be invalid). Click 'Ok' when you're finished. If you selected to create a web site shortcut, you'll have to choose properties for the Advanced Internet Kiosk's special safe web-browser. Checkmark the boxes beside properties you want to enable. E.g., you can choose 'Block download and opening of all potentially harmful files' option or allow only HTTP and HTTPS URLs in the address bar. This options will only work with the safe browser. After the shortcut is created, it will appear in the shortcuts list. You can edit and remove shortcuts any time using 'Edit' and 'Remove' buttons (or hit 'F4' or 'Delete' accordingly). The 'Edit' button will return you to the Shortcut Editor window with information for the selected shortcut. Click the 'Save' button in the upper-left corner when you're finished managing shortcuts.

Advanced Internet Kiosk is intended for building Internet kiosks, public access PCs, or in-store terminals. It lets you disable access to files installed on your PC and prevent users from changing PC settings while gives full access to all necessary applications you specify including IE. As a result, many people may have free access to a workstation you create, but none of them can damage (whether accidentally or intentionally) vital system files or stuff hard disk with garbage.
