Advanced Internet Kiosk FAQ

How can i manage the appearance of the user desktop? how do i manage the appearance of the user desktop?

Click the 'Appearance' button of the left toolbar. This section customizes the application bar location and desktop appearance. You can choose to locate the application bar on the top or on the bottom of the screen or hide it completely. If the bar is hidden you can still administer the application by a special key combination you define in miscellaneous options window. Notice that if you hide the application bar and not emulate the shortcuts desktop, your user will not be able to restart the application (i.e. a browser) he uses. In this case you have to either choose 'Prevent the safe browser window from closing' option or develop your own application that cannot be closed. If you want the users to see the shortcuts like on the standard Windows desktop, put a checkmark in the box saying 'Simulate regular desktop...'. In this section you can also browse for a background picture and select whether to tile it or stretch. You can as well choose type, size and color of the font for the shortcuts. Click the Save button, when you finished managing this section.
