1st Mass Mailer FAQ

Unable to send because of a wrong smtp response

Question: When I start sending I receive a wrong SMTP response from my SMTP server that the server may no longer accept connections from IP addresses which have no reverse-DNS (PTR record) assigned. What is the problem?

Brief Answer: You are outside of your ISP's network or your ISP restricts you in sending

Answer: Usually it means you are trying to send email messages through your ISP's email account from an external network not being a part of your ISP's network. You are connected to another ISP in short. Most of ISPs do not allow to use their SMTP servers for external Internet users connected to other ISPs. Another reason is that your ISP limits you in sending or provides you with a web-based email access only. Possibly it requires you to use a fixed IP address tied to an Internet domain. In this case you need to buy a domain such as mybestdomain.com and a fixed IP address from your ISP and then tie the domain to the IP address using the domain administration tool you will receive upon buying the domain. Please, read about other typical problems with sending to get more information regarding this issue. Please, give your ISP a call to find out the real reason of the problem. Problems with sending are not connected with quality of 1st Mass Mailer, they are problems of your SMTP account or SMTP settings actually.
