Access manager provides much more security than standard ways in Windows.
No matter what security package you use, you should still enable your computer's built-in security features. These are typically referred to as the CMOS or Setup parameters. Even with software hard disk protection your computer is still not fully protected without using your computer's CMOS security. See CMOS Settings - Passwords for more information.
